Terms of Use
Last updated: April 2026
Wordflow is free, open source software released under the GNU General Public License v3.0. These terms of use govern your use of the Wordflow application and website.
1. Open source license
Wordflow is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3). The full license text is available in the repository:
github.com/Light-Down/word-flow — LICENSE
In summary, the GPLv3 grants you the right to:
- Use the software for any purpose, free of charge
- Study and modify the source code
- Distribute copies of the original or modified software
If you distribute modified versions, you must do so under the same GPLv3 license and make the source code available.
2. No warranty
Wordflow is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind — express or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the author (Mark Olenberg) is not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use this software.
3. Third-party services
Wordflow requires a Groq API key to function. Groq is an independent third-party service with its own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for Groq's availability, pricing changes, or service interruptions.
Groq's terms: groq.com/terms-of-use
Your audio and transcriptions are sent directly from your device to Groq's API using your own API key. Wordflow has no backend that processes your voice data.
4. Compiled downloads
We offer pre-compiled .dmg builds via email for users who don't want to build from source. These builds are provided as a convenience — they are identical to what you would get by compiling the source code yourself.
You can always build the app yourself from the source code at github.com/Light-Down/word-flow.
